Many classic car lovers spend countless hours restoring their favorite rides. They take them to car shows and some take them to the drag strip to see what they will run. Many people never receive any recognition for their work except the people looking their car over at a car show or cruise.

Rick Jones has been working on cars since before he could legally drive. He developed a passion for the AMC brand and has owned at least one ever since he could drive. He began restoring his cars years ago and has become an excellent restoration man for his AMC's.

His cars are appreciated by classic car buffs and the AMC faithful too. Rick not only drives them, but takes them to the track to do what people did in the 60's and 70's. Run em!

He bought and restored a 1969 1/2 AMC Hurst SC/Rambler. This is an awesome car that really embodies the vision of a muscle car. I remember a neighbor in th Early 70's who had one these machines. As a kid it was a real treat to here that 390 roar as the guy burnt rubber in  4 gears. What a cool memory and one the reasons I am a car buff.

Back to Rick's car...(sorry memories are powerful motivators and pretty darn cool!) Full disclosure here..Rick is my cousin...but trust me when I tell you everything I am writing is accurate as my memory. Rick tossed me the keys to the beast one day and told me to let er rip. I could not pass up a chance to drive this thing. I took off and got her good and warmed up....I brought the rpm's up slightly..(figure Rick is going to read this...so slightly is good) and dumped the clutch. I was shifting in a flash..2nd....3rd...4th and each time that front end jumped in the air and the tires told me the clutch engaged.

It was so much fun I had to slow it down to a stop and try it again! I will never forget my drive in a rare muscle car and Rick's trust in me to let me take it down the road solo. It was incredible! That is a very fun car to drive.

So, back to the now. Rick's car is in the January 2010 issue of Automobile magazine. The author the article, Rusty Blackwell gives a great history of the car with specs and historical details. He also gives a much better description of what it is like to drive Rick's SC/Rambler than I did. He loved it to!

Congratulations to Rick Jones for restoring an excellent muscle car and getting the recognition he deserves. He has done a lot of incredible work on AMC cars over the years and it is cool to see him and his car recognized in a national magazine.

The Farm Guys Racing Team is very proud of Rick and his car. We love ya man.
